The elusive cold reading technique

As paranormal researchers go, most of us mainly focus on ghost and hauntings, but there are other aspects to the field. One of the most important, and in reality what started many societies on the matter off is psychic abilities. In fact in the beginning the majority of paranormal research facilities were mainly focused on psychics and mediums. In this article I will describe a technique used by several psychics to make themselves look more credible. That technique is the cold reading, and not only will I describe it to you I am also going to give you an example of one.

The first thing the typical psychic does when you meet them is eye you over. This is a vital part of the trick. They need to note the type of clothes you wear and even look at your posture. If you are wearing pricey attire this will allow them to begin generalizing what they will say to. Also they will look for how you present yourself. Even the smallest limp can allow the psychic to take note on an injury. This is also a big part. Say you limped in. The psychic says "you had a recent knee injury" they will watch your face and see how you react. If you have an expression that means the statement was wrong they will quickly fix the statement, all the while making what I call petty excuses such as I am trying to probe your mind.

Every thing you do will be picked up by the psychic and they will almost always monitor your face. If you appear to be well off they may state that you came into some money or that you have found minor success. If you look like you are down the psychic will almost always give you a positive reading to boost your day and also urge you to pay a little more then asking price. Some psychics will even go as far as to read into how you sit. A lady of esteem will sit much different than the average lady does.

Now that you know what to look for let me make it easier for you to see exactly what I mean.

You are the type of person who always seemed to stand out. You have recently came into an amount of money and are thinking heavily on your future. you have a small scar on your leg. You like to read in duration. You are very much attuned to what some call the darker side. You have an inner ambition to travel someday.

Did I get some of these right? I am sure I did. I simply used what I could ascertain from you based on the fact you were reading this article. The scar comment usually gets people but if you think about it doesn't everybody have a scar on their leg from childhood? The money comment may seem direct but I never gave an amount so one could assume any number of things from a penny to a million dollars. Why would I say you stand out, well easy. You are on a paranormal website.

Of course I could really go into depth on this topic but I feel I have given you a start to this very controversial topic. I am not in any way stating that all psychics use this technique but rest assured the majority who have computer printed paper signs hanging from their living room window stating readings for $5.00 are most likely using this technique. Some psychics are the real deal and that should be examined as well. Happy hunting.
