Dowsing for Ghosts

Dowsing For Ghost

By: Sam Little

While often looked at as unconventional dowsing has slowly become one of the new standards in the paranormal field. Dowsing is considered the oldest form of divination. It has been used to locate underground water sources as well as find unmarked graves, identify the sex of unborn children and now locate ghost.

While some people are unaware of dowsing it has gotten rather popular. So much in fact it host a multi thousand member orginization known as the American Society of Dowsers. The society is very active in various dowsing experiments but in all honesty even the members have no clue why dowsing works. It has stood the test of science and the skeptics but the reason behind it's wounders remain unknown.

First let me elaborate a little more on dowsing. It can be performed with a Y shaped rod or 2 L shaped rods. We will not be discussing the Y rod in this article as it does not really apply to paranormal use of the rods. The two L shaped rods are made of a light weight metal such as copper or brass, but steel coat hangers have been used by some people and seem to work just the same. The key to dowsing is focus. You must maintain focus on what it is you are looking for. Now simply take the L shaped rods, holding the smalest bend lightly in your hand that way it can pivot and extending the longer bend out in front of you. You want to keep both rods level at all times. Now you need to let the rods have space between them. Keep your hands at about 6 to 9 inches away from each other, that way you allow enough pivot room for the rods.

The rods will guide you in the direction of what it is you are looking for. If the rods point in any direction you are to walk in that direction. When the rods are in direct contact with what it is you are searching for they will cross each other. Once again why this happens noone really knows. Dowsers say it is partly to do with the mental state they put trhemselves in. The amount of focus determines that amount of success.

We now have a small understanding of dowsing, and while small it is still enough to allow you to do this in your work if you wanted to. Dravenstar has one person who has attempted the dowsing but we have not really gone to far into the art. Other groups however have done extensive work with dowsing. TAPS for one has a few members who use that technique, but of all the teams one of the most noted dowsers is the leader of The Spirit Chasers, Patti Star. Patti has written books and articles on the subject and is one of the pioneers in using that form of divination in paranormal research. I hope you have at the least learned something and for now, happy hunting!
